![]() ![]() The thing is, the age of Trump has really exposed the evangelicals for what they really are. If we destroy it, if humans even continue to exist it will be in a post-apocalyptic hellish world. I hate to break it to them but there is no rapture and we only get one earth. It reminds me of this couple in my church growing up who maxed out their credit cards because they thought the rapture was about to happen so they wouldn't have to pay it off. Meanwhile, they wouldn't mind a worldwide nuclear holocaust and could care less about climate change because Jesus is coming anyways. ![]() They preach "small government" but want to control everyone's sex lives. I agree completely, and the fact that these people now have complete control over our country has me very worried about surviving the next 3.5 years. If you research how much money was spent in in the Middle East to kill people-4.8 Trillion dollars, and how many lives lost your horror will grow. Carl Sagan warned of these dangers too, in the Christian religion. Sometimes I think evangelical/fundamentalist Christianity is just a death cult. With the environment too, notice how Trump hates the EPA even, I carried a few protests signs about that, they don't care about the environment or this planet after all God is going to blow it up and we are in the Last Days and will give us a new one. So few care about the extinction of the human race. God will give us a new planet after all after this one gets destroyed and blown up. They don't care if WWIII happens because it means Jesus will return sooner. The more I think about that, the more I think Revelation and belief in bible prophecy and the stupid Rapture has set up our society in a very dangerous place. As a Remnant I wrote online warning of the NWO and the desire for WWIII, and called out Christians for seeming to want mushroom clouds to dot the landscape and that they were wrong and on the side of evil in supporting "new world order" war mongering politicians. ![]() I believe these things influence the lust for war too. I am kind of ashamed I even believed this crap but obviously some of my actions spoke different didn't they? I mean I was doing volunteer work to save the environment, they told me that this world wasn't very important and God was going to destroy it in the end days and give us a new heaven and earth. One disturbing thing they did get me to believe, was that this world wasn't that important. I still believe in support for the environment and nature. I remember church people found some of these activities strange along with my war protesting. In my early years in the IFB, I did volunteer work, for the environment for cheap water for the rural poor and activism for the water shed against pollution and factory farms. I have spoken of my cognitive dissonance being a Christian. More and more I believe CHristian fundamentalism/evangelicalism is dangerous to the planet. ![]()
