![]() For example,I can't make it "speak" the German word "Kanalisation" correctly. that rely on using pure vowels and hard consonants.Too hard to make the Fruity speech synth do this. Speak languages other than english, like German,Russian,Japanese, etc. The biggest problem of the FLStudio speech synth is making it The FLStudio speech synth is not very good for this and sounds very "fruity" :( ,but the male voice in the Opera web browser based on the IBM engine sounds (phrases) very realistic for a synthesized thing. The trick, and fun part, is to experiment and play around with it until you hear something that inspires you.Now I need speech synthesizers: one that produces sound like the old commodore64/Atari computerized digital speech, and one that sounds very realistic. Transpose it, convolve it with another sound, do some phase vocoding on it, whatever. Then load it into your computer/sampler and start manipulating it. Record the output of your TV/VCR/DVD, pop a mic in the kitchen and record conversations, get some kind of portable recording device and just wander around grabbing stuff. Start gathering sounds from every source you can imagine. you know when you go to the dentist and they have you keep this air hose in your mouth and if you suck down on, the air makes a compressed noise or something. I'm sure many of those sounds existed before the song was written, rather than Trent writing the song and thinking, "Okay, here at 2:28 - theres this sound as if. I know they sampled over 3,000 movies for that album though.I think the answer may lie more in this than in with " creating your own sounds from a base waveform." There was an article in Keyboard from '94 when the CD came out and I remember a note about Chris Vrenna, then NIN's drummer, combing through and editing/mangling/manipulating the samples from the film stuff. I know they sampled over 3,000 movies for that album though. but I'm not so sure, I believe he has distinct sounds in his head and he gets them out. ![]() I guess Trent just pretty much experiments and comes up with these things spontaneously. I suppose the majority of answers may be "well just experiment with creating your own sounds from a base waveform" but if anyone has any answers that may give me a bit more understanding, cool. when the drums kick in, this melody begins droning and sounds like a swarm of bees ![]() This throaty humming melody, like a dog whimpering, comes in about 0:10, getting louder. 4:10 this sound kinda "pulsates" and continues on throughout "i wanna know everything, i wanna be everywhere." its almost like a muffled/distorted siren? (maybe I just answered this question myself ) 3:50 the rumbling-ish bass makes this wooshing like sound, or seems like it goes in reverse midway? as the previous sound from 2:28 comes in behind it ![]() sounds as if something is grinding on metal, it starts out low, and kinda quickly climbs up in intensity and speed. At 4:49 behind the melody there is some kinda. could be a distorted guitar melody sped up? ![]() I am wondering how the following sounds/effects would be done through software/synth if anyone may know: I recall a couple people here that knew NIN music so I was thinking perhaps someone may have answers for me. ![]()
